XVIII AIDS Conference

The XVIII International AIDS Conference, which took place in Vienna, Austria (July 18-23) looked at what has been achieved in the fight against the disease and at the many challenges that remain. These issues are of major importance for sub-Saharan Africa, which is at the center of the global AIDS crisis, since more than two-thirds of all people infected with HIV live in the region.
