Vijay Laxmi - Broadcaster Vijay's first passion is in her radio programs and the reaction of listeners. A dedicated broadcaster and producer, Vijay has interviewed many international personalities including Ravishankar, Zubin Mehta, John Harbision, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Lata Mangeshkar and dozens of others for her popular music program, Manoranjan.
Vijay has received many awards for her cross-cultural music programs and covering important topics for Indian youngsters such as the Westing House Science Competition, drugs, health, environment, day care centers in America, etc. She covers many important current events for VOA Hindi and recently she reported from the WHO Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. While preparing a program she thinks she is a listener first, and then a broadcaster.
Prior to VOA Hindi, Vijay worked for Radio Ceylon where fans still remember her popular music program. Vijay also loves music, sports and literature and is a graduate of Lucknow University.
