   VOA Hindi Fan Clubs:
VOA Hindi’s extensive network of Fan Clubs spans the entire Hindi-speaking world in South Asia and beyond, including Hindi-speaking Diaspora communities in Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Suriname, Fiji, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E. and Germany. VOA Hindi Fan Clubs have grown in popularity, rising from 150 in 1993 to well over 1,200 today, totaling more than 40,000 active members. VOA Hindi Fan Club members represent a vital part of our programming and marketing effort, serving as ‘foot soldiers’ to enlist additional listeners/viewers and boost membership. Many VOA Hindi Fan Clubs are also active in social work and community service.

Several VOA Hindi Fan Clubs operate community meeting rooms where members listen or watch VOA Hindi programs, host various social activities and plan community outreach initiatives. One fan club in particular, Chhatrapati Shivaji Raja Shrota Sangh (CSRSS), raised funds to construct their own building in Kaman, near Pune in the Maharashtra state of India.  Club members successfully raised nearly 350,000 rupees in a massive fundraising drive to purchase land and start construction.  Club CSRSS runs a free learning center for needy students and is planning other social activities to help disenfranchised members of the community.
