파키스탄 보안 관계자들은 13일 최근 아프가니스탄 국경지대에서 일어난 교전 중에 파키스탄 정부군이 34명 이상의 무장분자들을 사살했다고 밝혔습니다.

전투용 헬기와 포병대로 구성된 정부군은 바후르 부족 지역에서 최소한 24 명의 알 카에다와 연계된 무장분자들을 사살했습니다. 당국자들은 12일 시작된 포격이 13일 까지 계속됐다고 밝혔습니다.

군 관계자들은 파키스탄 북서부 지역 스와트 계곡에서 계속되고 있는 전투에서 또 다른 10 명의 무장분자들이 사살됐다고 밝혔습니다.

Pakistani security officials say government troops have killed more than 34 militants in the latest fighting in a restive tribal area near the Afghan border.

Troops using helicopter gunships and artillery killed at least 24 al-Qaida-linked militants in the Bajaur tribal region. Officials say the shelling began on Sunday and continued into today (Monday).

Military officials say another 10 militants were killed in ongoing battles with security forces in northwest Pakistan's Swat Valley today.

Elsewhere in the northwest, officials say four people, including a local politician, were wounded in a roadside bombing in Dir district.

In other news, Pakistani government officials are expected to share their comprehensive anti-terror strategy with lawmakers today (Monday).

Legislators were briefed by military and intelligence officials last week in order to develop a plan to combat militants.
