The VOA Music program this week is all about Lao New Year celebration. Lao New Year runs during mid-April around the 13th.
Every where around the world, there is Laotian community, there will be a new year celebration. The traditional Lao New Year celebration usually take up to two weeks for festivities, foods, fun and families gathering. The first song is by Thongvone Khannara of Australia in "Happy Lao New Year," follow by "Soakdee Pimai"-Monsavath Saythara and last, but not least the duet song by Achan Phomma Phimmasone and Phone Phoumithone in "Svatdee Pimai."
