Laos Today: UXOs Claim the Lives of 140 Laotians a Year

Officials of the Lao PDR have reported that Lao people have lost their lives at an average rate of 140 persons per year because of unexploded ordnance since 1997.

cover over 37% of Laos soil even though, since its foundation in 1996, UXO-Lao has cleared over 6,000 hectares of land of unexploded ordnance and destroyed over six hundred thousands unexploded bombs.
