Thailand’s Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding, Plc., has announced new plans to invest in more dam constructions in Laos, in addition to the 25% stake in the Nam Ngum 2 dam it now holds. The latest move is part of Ratchaburi’s effort to meet its goal of selling at least 1,000 megawatts of electricity produced in Laos to Thailand’s EGAT by the year 2010.

Meanwhile, a Chinese company has begun construction of the 135 million-dollar Xe Xet 2 dam in Saravanh province, aiming to sell 76 megawatts of electricity to EGAT in the year 2010 also.
