many Independence and Democrat supporters who are female and those that
have a similar background.
Two Laotian American women who shared their point of views
about the Republican Party are Sue or Khaopaseuth Akhasone of Virginia and
Khameuy Phongthep of California. “This year, if I have to chose, I would choose
Republican because John McCain selected Sarah Palin to be his running mate. He
accepted her just the way she is. I also strongly believe that all mothers
would do a great job once come to responsibilities and taking care of the
domestic issues. We have patience and a will to take care the family in any
circumstances,” said Sue.
Khameuy Phongthep, an Economic student from California also
shared her point of view by saying “I agree with Republican party in leading
the country. So far, every thing is getting better. I am a women just like
Sarah Palin, I think it’s a very good idea to have a woman in the office, to
bring a new idea to share our female perspective.”
John Norawong, Executive Vice-President of Timberland Bank, Seattle. WA
John Noravong, an Executive Vice-President of the Timberland
Bank of Washington State expressed his though… “I’ve always been a Republican
since I became the citizen of this country. I came to the United Sates at age
15 from Laos. I’ve worked in the banking industry for over a decade and worked
in several states prior taking position as a Vice President and a shareholder
of the Timberland Bank in Seattle, Washington. I feel that being a good citizen
of this great country we should all practice our civic duty by going out to
vote. My concept about voting and supporting the Republican Party is because
the party stands for what I believe in, especially selecting a woman-Sarah
Palin. Republican Party always support women, I’ve no doubt Sarah Palin, and
she has more executive experience than Barack Obama and even Joseph Biden.”
The next hard working eight weeks will be the crucial point
for both parties to go down and to get closer to local people and the
grassroots to come out to vote for them.
