Astronomers around the world are preparing for a record-breaking asteroid flyby on February 15th. Asteroid 2012 DA14 is considered small by scientists who track the solar system's rocky debris, but it will zip past our planet so close that it will be even nearer to us than our orbiting weather and communications satellites.
