Kunsang Tanzin is one of the first Tibetans in the exile community to explore business opportunities beyond exporting rugs and selling sweaters. In the late 1980s, Tanzin left his teaching job to start a textile manufacturing and export business that eventually occupied a three-storeyed Delhi factory with more than a hundred employees. Kunsang Tanzin managed and grew Tsekel Exports over a period of 15 years. He says that having the courage to take calculated risks is essential for an entrepreuner, and that in order to maintain business success, you have to constantly be exploring new opportunities and innovations. Currently residing in Canada, Tanzin is serving as President of Canadian Tibetan Association of Ontario and Toronto Tibetan Cultural Center.
