Arab women are known for their extensive beauty rituals, from makeup to hair to nails and even cosmetic surgery. In the Lebanese capital, there are more than 100 nail salons offering a variety of services. But for practicing Muslim women, wearing nail polish during prayer has always been 'haram' or 'forbidden." Now there is a new type of enamel that has been certified 'halal' or ‘permissible,’ allowing observant women to enjoy the popular practice of wearing nail art.
