Nasar Abadey is a professor of Jazz percussion in the Jazz Studies department at Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University. Nasar’s band SUPERNOVA’s® debut CD, Mirage, was released on Amosaya Records, and his sophomore CD, Diamond In The Rough, was released on DPC Records in 2011. Most recently SUPERNOVA® was selected by the U.S. State Department and the Lincoln Center as Ambassadors to tour with the American Music Abroad Rhythm Road. The one-month tour took them to five countries in East Africa - Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, and Mozambique. Abadey has performed with many jazz greats, and has appeared in various music festivals internationally. SUPERNOVA® performs music from the threshold of Jazz to beyond space and time. Nasar Abadey and SUPERNOVA’s® musical presentation demonstrates an array of colors, textures and grooves!

Through the door and down the stairs, VOA's "The Hamilton Live" brings the audience along to a state-of-the-art music club, hidden just blocks from the White House in Washington, D.C.

Join us for intimate performances with musicians from every genre, including rock n' roll, rhythm-and-blues, gospel and bluegrass.  Performers also share stories that inspire them and define their music.  It's a 30-minute night out in the nation's capital, and an exclusive backstage pass to American music.
