Every so often a song comes along that defines a group’s career. That is the case for the Swedish duo Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo known as Icona Pop and the hit that has landed at the top of the charts around the world is called “I Love It." That one song has appeared in tv commercials, sporting events, and already sold millions of copies. For today’s program we will meet the two young ladies behind Icona Pop and their new found fame. We also welcome the Irish band called Kodaline. In 2007 their single “Give Me a Minute” topped the charts in Ireland. Steven, Vinny, Jason, and Mark are far from Dublin but not from the music that has made them famous. The music of Kodaline has been featured in film, on television and the BBC included them in their annual Sound of 2013 list of the year’s best artists.
