Angeles has often been called the “gang capital” of the United States, with hundreds of active criminal gangs. But the city is also home to a program that is helping thousands of young people leave behind gang life every year. In fact, “Homeboy Industries” is so successful at giving ex-gang members a new path in life, other countries are looking at the program for help. VOA reporter Elizabeth Lee fills us in.
