Terri Lyne Carrington is a Grammy Award-winning drummer, composer and bandleader. In 1989, she released her Grammy nominated debut CD “Real Life Story.” In the late ‘80s she gained recognition on late night TV as the house drummer for the original “Arsenio Hall Show.” Carrington won a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for “The Mosaic Project” in 2011. This year she released “Money Jungle: Provocative Blue” that pays homage to Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus and Max Roach, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the release of their iconic 1963 “Money Jungle” album.

Join us for intimate performances with musicians from every genre, including rock n' roll, rhythm-and-blues, gospel and bluegrass.  Performers also share stories that inspire them and define their music.  It's a 30-minute night out in the nation's capital, and an exclusive backstage pass to American music.
