In 1952, the Voice of America launched a Coast Guard cutter in the Mediterranean Sea that had been transformed into a floating radio station. It’s mission for more than a decade: to deliver a message of hope and freedom behind the Iron Curtain.
"On Assignment" is a weekly behind-the-scenes look at the VOA reporters and producers reporting the news from around the world.
