1. Necessary Reform
I am not the U.S. citizen but I think what Mr. Obama is trying to do is right and necessary and moral. The fact that 47 million people have not been covered by insurance does not reflect the status of an advanced country like the U.S. After Mr. Obama's reform, American people will have more choices than before, so they will enjoy more freedom to choose between public option and private insurers. The key is how to form an equal ground for the competitions of public and private insurers.

5. The US needs health reform
As a Canadian, I have never worried about insurance (about $30/mo if your company doesn't cover you, which is very rare) and with that, you never have to pay a dime. I have friends in the US who have to pay $500 month for coverage and can barely afford to pay the mortgage afterward. No idea how the do it - and for those who aren't covered, having to live in constant fear. It will change the psyche of the American people, and if you can employ a system similar to ours, you will wonder why it took so long to do so (pharmaceuticals, probably) Good luck, rooting for my American friends, Angele

6. 47 million uninsuers in the U. S.
It's unbelievable! But it's true. There are about 47 million of people who do not have health insurance in the U. S. Every year eighteen thousand people die because of lack of treatment. It does not make any senses at all because America is the richest and most powerful country in the world. It's not easy to get free health care if you are under 65, you are not pregnant woman, you are not a kid under 18, or you are not disable. It's not easy to get health insurance from your employer either if you are a part- time employee. That's why there so many people without heath insurance like that. However, 47 million is only about 15% of the population. It means 85% of the peole here are fine with their health care. Just some of them get sick seriously and be refused to cover by their insurance companies. Not much, I guess. That's why people are not interested in having something new, which they do not like because it sounds like socialism, and it may increase their income tax( althoug

9. Killers for Profit
I'm amazed at the confusion of the current health care debate. I just don't understood why any middle class American would want to accept the status quo of health care. The conservative arguments about why they would not want a government public option are the same arguments you could apply to the current health care system. What confuses me, this should not be a conservative or liberal debate. It should be a debate about what is best for Americans health needs v.s. profit orientated decisions made by insurance companies looking out for their bottom line. Rationing - health insurance companies do that now. If you have coverage and your level of sickness is beyond the expense they are willing to cover, they will drop you in a heart beat. It happens to thousands of middle class families after years of paying their premiums. They find themselves with a serious illness that is beyond the threshold of what an insurance company is willing to pay and they drop you. To stay alive your onl

10. No to Government Health Care - Simplify what we have!
Simply legalize capitalistic health insurance companies the freedom to compete with one-another across state lines with their coverage programs. Make it mandatory that age & all precondition health issues be accepted. A percentage factor could possibly be added'

11. Health Care Reform
I don't think people really understand what's at stake here. Obama is not responsible for the economy, the wars in the Middle East or the health care system. He is however trying to turn our country around in the right direction. I don't think for one minute his administration is trying to get in the health care business. Having an option that will keep health insurance providers honest is in all of our best interest. As an American who has suffered for the past 8 years under the Bush administration I welcome open discussion that reveals the conditions our country faces. We have the opportunity to fix some serious problems with our current health care system which is directly linked to our failing economy. People email or call your local representative and ask for factual evidence to support the statements they are making for or against health care reform. Make them pay in 2010 and 2012 if they lie to you.

12. Health Care Reform
It is crazy to see all of these folks screaming and yelling. Sure they are concerned as past legislation has meant less services and usually higher costs, but let's look at reason. A lot of other countries are doing this just fine. Do we really want a basic service to be revenue driven? Talk about "death panels". A real concern is the cost. What most need to understand is that we pay a lot of this already in the form of state programs and unpaid ER bills which are passed on to the premiums of the insured. A recent poll indicates most people are very concerned: http://www.polladium.com/poll.php?poll_id=229&location_id=1

Republicans are filling the media , and the air ways, of big, lies, and ,misconceptions, of every king, trying to SCARE, all the American people, about this Reform. In this , they are playing in the hand of the Health Industry, which is the Greatest, contributor to the REPUBICAN treasure to make political campaigns. The problems are, there is some INNOCENTS ,or ignorant, who steel believe these great LIARES.
