Beijing Signals Even More Hardline Policy on Tibet

In the recent past, a number of high profile Chinese leaders including premier Wen Jiabao, Zhu Weiqun, the deputy head of the United Front Work Department, Chen Quangua, Tibet Party Secretary and Liu Zuoming, Party Chief of Ngaba have made a number of bellicose and hardline statements on the Tibetan protesters. All the above leaders have called for a “strike-hard” campaign against the all domestic and hostile foreign forces that endanger the unity of China. Table Talk discuss the rationale and logic behind these aggressive statements and whether these statements are mere rhetoric or suggest an even more overt shift in Beijing’s Tibet policy.

Amidst Crackdown, China’s Xi to Visit U.S.

While Beijing is intensifying its crackdown in Tibet, China’s next President in waiting will be making a high level official visit to U.S. starting this coming Monday. Tibetans Respond to China's Crackdown with a Series of Campaign

As the situation inside Tibet continues to deteriorate and China's crackdown on Tibetans becoming more aggressive, Tibetan Parliament announced a series of solidarity campaign in the next few weeks to show solidarity with Tibetans inside Tibet. As part of this campaign, four member delegation team led by Karma Choephel have just concluded a five day campaign tour in India's capital.
