This Sunday’s meeting between the Dalai Lama’s envoys and two members of the United Front Work Department in Shenzen, China, is the first such meeting that has received news coverage inside China and therefore has become an event that has generated different views amongst the Chinese people, as well as a level of confusion, since the talks are occurring concurrently with daily accusations and denounciations of the Dalai Lama in the official Chinese media.
