Six of parliamentarians lawmakers met exiled Tibetan leader Dalai Lama in India, walked out of a meeting with Chinese ambassador in Kathmandu. 

Under growing pressure from the Chinese government,  they were called for a meeting at Nepal’s Prime Minister’s office to discuss budget.  But when they arrived at the meeting, they were surprised to see Chinese ambassador Qiu Guohong with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar  The Prime Minister, instead of discussing budget,  sought explanation of the MPs’  visit to India in presence of Chinese ambassador Kyu Gohong.  The lawmakers walked out of the meeting, according to sources.

The six lawmakers led by Madhesi Janadhikar Forum leader B.P Yadav traveled to Dharmashala to meet the Tibetan religious leader, apparently without government notice. Following the disclosure of the meeting, the foreign ministry said the meeting was politically incorrect and urged the political parties to abide by the government's official position of 'One China' policy. The ministry has warned of action to anyone involving in anti-China agitation. The Kathmandu Post quotes foreign relation experts terming the meeting as 'serious blunder'. The lawmakers seem to have ignored the warnings.
