Broadband | Broadband These are trying times for women in many parts of the world. War, violence, extremism, fundamentalism, and restrictive legislation are but the most striking of the hurdles women must overcome as they strive for the most rudimentary of rights. “Against All Odds; Women partnering for Change in a Time of Crisis” tells the stories of women activists from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East who, working in partnership, have developed and implemented strategies to overcome these challenges. The 25-minute documentary was produced by the Women's Learning Partnership (WLP), a woman's advocacy organization. It was founded in 2000 by Mahnaz Afkhami with support from a group of women leaders from Muslim-majority countries. The WLP now works with eighteen partner organizations in the Global South, particularly in Muslim-majority areas. “Against All Odds; Women partnering for Change in a Time of Crisis” airs this week on “A Woman's World”.
