Dr. Tsetan Dorji Sadutshang, Chief Medical Officer, Delek Hospital

Apart from his duties as the senior physician at Delek hospital, Dr. Sadutshang is the lead medical consultant for the Central Tibetan Administration and personal physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He studied medicine at the universities of Chennai and Wales, and International Public Health at Harvard. Dr. Sadutshang has authored several books on public health, addresses international forums on health and medicine, and has received numerous awards for his work. He tells VOA that the one of the challenges for healthcare in the exile Tibetan communities in India is the lack of trained physicians due to emigration.
