INTRO: Most farmers in Africa are women. But a South African NGO says many factors are keeping them poor. This, it says, contributes to food shortages on the continent because the women don’t have enough resources to produce significant amounts of food. The Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network is developing strategies to try to end hunger in Africa. A major part of its mission is to uplift the millions of women farmers on the continent. Darren Taylor reports.
