Q&A Lipin / Economy / American Perception Of China / Part -1

In A New Series Of Reports Starting With Today's Program, Daybreak Asia's Michael Lipin Is Examining The Question: What Do Americans Think Of Chinese? An Audience Member Recently Posed This Seemingly-Simple Question To VOA In An e-mail. As Michael Discovered, American Views On China Are Complicated And He Started To Investigate Them By Looking At The Latest US Opinion Polls Published By Gallup And Pew Research Center. The Surveys Show That Most Americans Appear To Have Unfavorable Opinions Of China As A Whole, But Also View The Country As Relatively Benign Toward The United States At The Present Time. In The First Of Several Interviews This Week, Michael Lipin Speaks To Council On Foreign Relations Analyst Elizabeth Economy, And Asks Her What's Behind Those Mixed Feelings.
