South Sudan marked four years of independence from Sudan on Thursday. While it should be a day of jubilation, the celebrations were however tempered by concerns about ongoing violence and severe food shortages. President Barack Obama’s National Security Adviser Susan Rice on urged warring leaders in South Sudan to end their conflict and establish a transitional government. VOA’s Vincent Makori reports.
