Yemen - Encounter

An airstrike, allegedly from a US-backed Saudi-led coalition, killed at least 140 funeral mourners in Sana, the capital of Yemen, thrusting the conflict back into the headlines. The United States hit radar sites in Yemen after one of its war ships in the Red Sea came under repeated missile attack from Houthi rebels. Graeme Bannerman, a non-resident scholar at the Middle East Institute and founder of Bannerman Associates, and Hussein Ibish, Senior Resident Scholar at the Arab Gulf States Institute, discuss the escalating violence with host Carol Castiel, prospects for a cease-fire, and why the conflict has morphed into a regional power struggle between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
