Serb President Boris Tadic and Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch Pavel are in Moscow Sunday, beginning a three-day unofficial visit intended to raise money for the construction of a Belgrade church.
The two men are scheduled to participate in a charity event Monday, Together with Serbia, that will raise money for the St. Savva Cathedral in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia and Montenegro. The final stages of construction of that church were recently completed, about 70 years after the project was first begun in the mid-1930s.
Tuesday, Patriarch Pavel is scheduled to meet with the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Alexy. The Serbian Orthodox patriarch will also lead a church service in Moscow.
