Meanwhile, fourth-seeded Elena Dementieva of Russia lost to unseeded Argentine Gisela Dulko, 7-5, 6-4. The Argentine faces another Russian, Evgenia Linetskaya, a three-set winner over Flavia Pennetta of Italy, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
