EU, Latin American Foreign Ministers Set to Begin Talks


Foreign ministers from 17 Latin American nations are in Luxembourg Thursday, for talks with their European Union counterparts.

The two days of talks are aimed at forging ahead with plans to improve trade ties and fight poverty.

The EU's delegation will be led by Luxembourg's foreign minister, Jean Asselborn, whose country holds the EU presidency.

He is expected to spend the first day of the talks meeting with the various trade groupings of Central and South America, including the Mercosur group which includes Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
