EU Peacekeepers in Bosnia Wound War Crimes Suspect in Shootout

Authorities in Bosnia-Herzegovina say a shootout involving European Union peacekeepers has left a Serb war crimes suspect seriously wounded.

Police say the wife and son of the suspect, identified as Dragomir Abazovic, were also wounded in the incident, which took place Thursday near Rogatica, abour 60 kilometers east of the capital, Sarajevo.

A local court in Bosnia has indicted Mr. Abazovic on war crimes charges.

The 6,500-strong EU force, which has been in Bosnia since 2004, is involved in both the search for fugitive war crimes suspects and combating organized crime throughout Bosnia.
