Kazakhstan's parliament has voted to keep Daniyal Akhmetov as prime minister.
He was unanimously approved Wednesday by both chambers of parliament after being nominated by President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Mr. Akhmetov has headed the ex-Soviet republic's Cabinet since 2003.
Mr. Nazarbayev is building a new Cabinet after being reelected president last month in voting that was criticized as flawed by Western observers and the opposition. Some information for this report was provided by AFP and AP.
