A U.S. jury is holding a third day of deliberations on whether confessed al-Qaida conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui should be executed or sentenced to life in prison.
The jury in Alexandria, Virginia, near Washington, D.C., resumed deliberations Wednesday. If the 12 jurors are not able to reach a unanimous decision, the judge will automatically sentence Moussaoui to life in prison.
Moussaoui is the only person to be tried by the United States in connection with the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He pleaded guilty to six counts of conspiracy last year.
