The Miami Heat have won this year's National Basketball Association championship.
The Heat downed the Dallas Mavericks, 95-92, in Texas late Tuesday, winning the best-of-seven championship series by a margin of four games to two. Miami lost the first two games, but came back to win four games in a row to take the 2005-2006 title.
This is the Heat's first league championship. The team joined the NBA 18 years ago.
Dwayne Wade led Miami with 36 points, including four crucial free throws in the final 30 seconds, and was named the series' most valuable player.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 29 points and 13 rebounds.
