Floods in Ethiopia Kill More Than 100


Officials in Ethiopia say heavy rain and floods in the east of the country have killed more than 100 people.

Rescue workers say the victims were from the Dire Dawa region, about 500 kilometers east of the capital, Addis Ababa. They say 129 bodies have been recovered so far.

Police say more than 100 homes were destroyed by the floods.

On Wednesday, Ethiopia's Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission said about 15,000 people were affected by floods in the country's Oromia region.
