Police in Virginia say they have captured a prison inmate who escaped on Sunday from a hospital and is suspected of killing a hospital guard and sheriff's deputy.
Police in the town of Blacksburg said prisoner William Charles Morva was taken into custody Monday, but gave no further details of his arrest.
Earlier, authorities said Morva had escaped from a hospital where he was receiving treatment. They considered the 24-year-old armed and dangerous.
Officials at nearby Virginia Tech University shut down the campus on the first day of classes and urged people to remain indoors. The campus is expected to reopen Tuesday.
