Officials have raised to 11 the death toll from a military helicopter crash in southern Russia, near the Georgian border, most of them senior military officers.
They were killed Monday when the M-18 helicopter taking them on an inspection trip crashed on the outskirts of Vladikavkaz, the provincial capital of North Ossetia. At least four others were injured.
The cause of the crash is not immediately known.
The Associated Press quotes a local military commander as saying the Russian officers were part of a team visiting Russia's 58th Army, stationed in the north Caucasus.
