Leader Of Zimbabwe Soccer Fans Urges Reduction In Gate Fees

Chairman Eddie “Mboma” Nyatanga of the Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Association said Tuesday that he supported the reduction of gate fees at matches under pressure from fans on the weekend in line with Harare’s price-cutting campaign.

Nyatanga said he hopes the Premier Soccer League, football clubs and the Zimbabwe Football Association will meet soon to set prices for future matches.

Nyatanga told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that high ticket prices are deterring soccer fans from attending matches because they must spend most of their money on food and other essential commodities.
