Zimbabwe’s “A” cricket team struggled Wednesday to post 203 runs for 6 on day two of a four-day match against Sri Lanka that started in Harare on Tuesday.
Sri Lanka continued to put up an impressive performance and posted a total of 426 runs all out before Zimbabwe came to bat on Wednesday.
Commentator Brian Goredema told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye the home team underperformed and faces an uphill task when play resumes Thursday.
Zimbabwe is hoping to return to international test status later this year. This match is a step on the way as the International Cricket Council recommended the team build its competitiveness and confidence in four-day matches with other national teams.
