Australia's cricket team has scored 46 not out in response to South Africa's score of 239 all out on the first day of the second test match at Cape Town, South Africa.
Justin Langer had 28 runs not out while Matthew Hayden added another 17 not out.
Earlier, Australian bowlers Glenn McGrath and Jason Gillespie took three wickets each, while fast bowler Brett Lee and leg spinner Shane Warne took two apiece. Lee also delivered the fastest ball ever bowled in cricket history at 157.4 kilometers per hour.
The bright spot for South Africa was Andrew Hall, who managed 70 runs before being caught out by wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist. Left hander Graeme Smith scored only three runs in his debut for South Africa. Smith was called up to replace batsman Daryll Cullinan who withdrew in a pay dispute.
Australia won the first test in Johannesburg by an innings and 360 runs.
