Bush 'Greatly Disturbed' by Jerusalem Suicide Bombing - 2002-11-21

President Bush says he is "greatly disturbed" by the latest suicide bombing in Israel. At least 10 people are dead following an attack on a bus in Jerusalem Thursday.

President Bush got the news of the bombing while in Prague, where he is attending a NATO summit.

It was the first suicide bombing in Jerusalem in more than four months. And the president wasted no time expressing his views to reporters.

"I am greatly disturbed by the news from the Middle East today," the president said. "There has been yet another suicide bombing. It is clear that those who want to use terror to stop any process for peace are still active."

But Mr. Bush made clear, he will not be deterred by the violence.

"We are going to continue to work toward peace in the Middle East. Two states living side by side in peace is the vision," he said.

The president said he will work with those who share that vision Israelis and Palestinians. He said all countries in the region must do their part to fight terrorism.
