Los Angeles Lakers basketball star Kobe Bryant is free on bail Monday, three days after being arrested in the U.S. state of Colorado on suspicion of sexual assault.
The 24-year-old Bryant turned himself in to police after a woman accused him of sexual misconduct in a hotel near the resort of Vail, Colorado. He was freed after posting a $25,000 bond.
Bryant was not charged and police say he has been cooperative. District attorney Mark Hulbert said prosecutors will make a decision on whether to file charges after they study police reports.
Bryant's lawyer says her client is innocent. The general manager of the Lakers says the allegations are completely "out of character" for Bryant, calling him one of the finest young men he has ever known.
