Dutch tennis player Raemon Sluiter has defeated Spain's Albert Montanes in three sets, 7-6, 1-6, 6-3 in the semifinals of the Dutch Open in Amersfoot, Netherlands.
The sixth-seeded Sluiter will face seventh-seed Nicholas Massu of Chile in Sunday's final. Earlier Saturday, Massu beat Peru's Luis Horna, 6-3, 4-0 in the other semifinal when Horna retired with a thigh injury. Horna was said to be suffering from recurring pain in his right thigh bone.
Sluiter will be making this third attempt to win an ATP final, all three in the Netherlands. He lost in Rotterdam earlier this year and in Amsterdam in 2000.
Massu is looking for his first title this year. He has beaten Sluiter in both their previous meetings.
