US College  Football: Ohio State Buckeyes Remain Undefeated - 2003-09-07

The number two ranked Ohio State Buckeyes were able to hold off a determined San Jose State Aztec team to remain undefeated in U.S. college football action Saturday.

Ohio State's Will Allen returned an interception 100 yards for a score and Mike Nugent kicked three field goals to lead the Buckeyes to the 16-13 win. Ohio State quarterback Craig Krenzel had the worst day of his career, completing just five of 20 passes for 76 yards with an interception.

Meanwhile, seventh-ranked Michigan scored a blowout win over Houston, 50-3. Chris Perry ran for 184 yards and two touchdowns for Michigan. The Virginia Tech Hokies had an easy time with James Madison, 43-0. Number 11 North Carolina State lost to Wake Forest, 38-24.

Notre Dame pulled off a comeback win in its opening game, defeated Washington State, 29-26 in overtime on a 40-yard field goal by Nicolas Setta. The Notre Dame kicker had five field goals on the day. Notre Dame plays Michigan in Ann Arbor next week.
