The U.S. women's team filled with retiring veterans, including all-time top scorer Mia Hamm, plays Brazil in the championship. Germany faces Sweden for bronze in a rematch of last year's World Cup final won by the Germans.
Women's field hockey also ends with the final and bronze medal game. The Netherlands plays Germany for gold while Argentina and China battle for bronze.
The Olympic Aquatic Centre is the venue for the women's water polo final and bronze medal games. Host Greece and Italy splash for the top prize after the United States and Australia decide the bronze.
Taekwondo features gold medals in the women's 49-kilogram category and men's under 58-kilogram weight division.
Highlights of the day include the five events that comprise men's modern pentahlon. Shooting, fencing, swimming, equestrian and cross-country running will be held at the Goudi Olympic Complex.
Another big day of athletics at the main Olympic stadium will see the men winning gold in the final of the long-jump, 400-meter hurdles and 200-meter sprint.
Finalists will try to pin down gold in Greco-Roman wrestling's 60, 74 and 96-kilogram categories. Divers seeking a women's gold medal will jump off the three-meter springboard. The 49er final will be contested in sailing.
The United States begins the day at the top of the medal standings with 25 gold and 76 overall. China has 24 gold with 52 total. Australia is currently third with 42 medals including 16 gold.
