British Prime Minister Tony Blair says he feels "excellent" one day after receiving treatment to correct an irregular heartbeat.
The 51-year-old leader made the comment Saturday as he and his wife, Cherie, left Downing Street for their official country residence, Chequers.
London's Hammersmith Hospital, where Mr. Blair was treated, said Friday's 2.5 hour procedure was successful and the risk of recurrence was low.
Mr. Blair says he will return to work Monday, and will go ahead with a trip to Africa on Tuesday.
On the eve of his hospital visit, Mr. Blair announced plans to seek a third term, which, if successful, could keep him in office until 2010.
