Iraqi officials say at least 10 people were killed and more than 20 others wounded in a car bomb explosion in the western town of Anah Wednesday.
They say the bomb apparently targeted national guard recruits waiting at the town's civil defense office.
Earlier, one Iraqi civilian was killed and six wounded in the southern city of Basra, where a roadside bomb exploded as a British patrol was crossing a bridge.
Earlier the U.S. military said warplanes struck a building in Fallujah, after receiving "credible intelligence" that supporters of wanted terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi were meeting there.
Meanwhile, thousands of Iraqi and U.S. soldiers are continuing a major operation to retake control of insurgent-held districts of Baghdad and nearby areas of Babil and Babylon. The operation began Tuesday.
