Iraqi police say insurgents have killed four truck drivers and set their convoy on fire in an ambush north of Baghdad.
Police say the drivers were carrying construction material Sunday to a U.S. military base when they were attacked in the al-Nabaie area.
Separately, authorities say a police general and two of his bodyguards were killed in a roadside bombing near Kirkuk.
Elsewhere, officials say a shepherd led search teams to the wreckage of a small plane that crashed three days ago in a remote northern area.
Authorities say all six people on board - including three German businessmen - were apparently killed in the crash. The plane - headed to Sulaymaniya from Azerbaijan - went missing in a storm late Thursday. Authorities said there was no evidence that hostile action played any part in the crash. Some information for this report was provided by AP and Reuters.
