U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening to permanently end funding for the World Health Organization if it does not commit to improvements within 30 days. Trump tweeted a letter he sent the WHO saying he will also reconsider revoking US membership. The threats prompted pushback from leaders in Europe including EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during a teleconference address to the World Health Assembly. She said scrutinizing the WHO’s role should come later, not in the middle of a pandemic.
