Obama Address Offers Holiday Reflections

U.S. President Barack Obama used his weekly address Saturday to talk about, what he called, this "special and sacred time of year" when Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and Jewish families commemorate their exodus from Egypt.

The U.S. leader said Jesus' example of loving your neighbor and seeing everyone as a child of God were values "at the heart not just of the Christian faith; but of all faiths."

Obama said "from Judaism to Islam; Hinduism to Sikhism; there echoes a powerful call to serve our brothers and sisters"... and "to treat others as we wish to be treated."

The president said he hoped everyone would take a moment this weekend "to pause and reflect, to embrace our loved ones, to give thanks for our blessings and to rededicate ourselves to interests larger than our own."
