Turkish Helicopter Crash Kills 17 Soldiers

Local officials in southeastern Turkey say a military helicopter has crashed, killing 17 soldiers.

Provincial governor Ahmet Aydin said the Sikorsky helicopter crashed Saturday in the district of Pervari in Siirt province. He said the aircraft went down in a mountainous region in bad weather. No one survived the crash.

Aydin said an investigation has begun to determine why the helicopter went down.
